Demo Video with Remix Deck Set
Here is video of a Remix Deck Set I created but would like to describe how this can be used in your DJ sets. First off all the songs in this Remix Deck Set are in Am or 8A in Camelot notation. There are a lot of great programs to find the key of your tracks but the one I use is Mixed In Key and it works very well. It uses Camelot notation by default and here is a link to describe how to use Camelot notation.
The basics are though when I mix, I mix in key. Meaning that the songs are harmonically similar enough for them to be mixed together but still sound good. So in practice you could use any 8A song or 9A or 7A song in this Remix Deck Set or transition to tracks in those keys. This way I can focus on my remix deck for a creative transition to another track and once that track is playing it gives me time to load another remix deck set in the same key or another key depending on where I want to take my set. Building creative transitions in key is where the Kontrol F1 has worked itself into my workflow. I think remix deck sets in key are a huge factor to creating useful remix deck sets. Enjoy and please upload some of your remix deck sets today!
